Hello everyone,

Hope you don't mind the English.

When fishing from the boat in Holland, the rods I use are either too stiff and too heavy in casting weight (Major Craft Skyroad ML 7-28g), or way too long (Graphiteleader 23 Silverado 782 M). That's why I want to invest in a specialist rod but without breaking the bank.

Thank you in advance,
Joe

Take a look at the Bullseye Skip Whip 7-28. Especially made as a kayak/belly rod. For me a perfect rod for fishing hardbaits from the yak. Should work on a „normal“ boat as well.

Does anyone have some other suggestion? I was looking at the Tailwalk Bay Mixx series but I can't find a lot of info about them.

Hi Joe,
I’m also considering getting a short spinning rod for wobblers and crankbaits. The market doesn’t offer many options in this area, but I’ve come across the new Nays NXT Hardbait rods. These rods are relatively short and have a moderate action (see here: Nays NXT Spinning Hardbait). The 5-21g version is slightly longer at 2.15 m than what you were looking for but could fit the specs. At a price of €199, the rods are also within budget.
Since these rods have only been on the market since January 10, 2025, there unfortunately aren’t any reviews available yet.

Best regards,
Mirza

Hi

I'm using the new Poison Adrena 268MP for the excact same purpose.
Of course it is out of your targeted budget and not a two-pieced rod, but believe me it is worth a look. (just mind the faster action than most of the rods which are marketed as hardbait-spinningrods)

It even casts the X-Nanahan+2 a mile :)

My Father has the MH Zodias for those baits and I fished it a little bit, because I was interested how it works.

I think there is nothing to complain about, especially when you look at the price.

Here is a Video where Dietel fished the rod (3 years ago) only with hardbaits all day:

Edit: under the Video is a list of baits he used

Bantam World Minnow
Bantam World Pop
Bantam Macbeth Flat
Bantam Pavlo Shad

Hi Mirza,

I was actually looking at the Nays NXT S hard Bait 21g model this morning :)

I'm 1,80m so 2,15m is still OK.

Danke,
Joe
